Well, with Fairy Day right around the corner, the members of the HAED message forums have put together a SAL. Originally I was thinking of finally deciding what to do with Star Dust, but have decided that I'm just "not in the mood" for her at the moment if that makes any sense. Honestly, the frogging is putting me off.

I mulled over my other fairy charts before deciding on Black Cat. This artwork being what finally brought me completely over to HAED in the first place. As a loyal customer of HAEE I bought a lot of perfume. Among my favorites (in fact, THE favorite) is Black Cat. At the request of Stacey Tippen and based on her artwork entitled 'Black Cat', Michele created the scent to counter the popular White Cat blend based on the artwork 'White Cat' by Ruth Sanderson. I immediately fell in love with the colors and impish look of the fae kitty and stalked the HAED store until the cross-stitch chart went live in January 2007.

Last year I purchased some fabric from Stab & Stash that had the same fall-ish colors as the artwork. Since then I've been meaning to get started on it but have been too busy with other pieces. So the Fairy Day SAL is giving me the kick in the butt I need to get him into my rotation. I have all the DMC needed minus maybe 5 colors or so, so that should be well enough to start for the SAL and order on-line as I go along. In fact, here's the main reason for this blog post, the floss toss photo!

Aren't they pretty? *love*

I'm hoping to do the pre-grid perhaps this weekend just in time to start the SAL on Tuesday. This SAL is going until Sunday, the 29th, and I'm anxious to see how much I can get done in 6 days. My last day of work also happens to be the 30th of June so I'm looking forward to the extra time in my schedule for cleaning the house, organizing my craft room, my on-line college courses, and of course, the STITCHING!
